Mammie Van Doren

 Mamie Elena Van Doren, born Joan Lucille Olander (Rowena, South Dakota, February 6, 1931) is an American actress, model and American singer, famous during the 1950s for being a fri symbol.


Van Doren was discovered by Howard Hughes producer on the night he was crowned Miss Palm Springs. The couple dated for several years. Hughes launched her career, putting her in several films from RKO. Van Doren is perhaps best remembered for bringing the Rock and Roll to live music in the style B-Music Untamed Youth (1957) and many other films of this exotic nature.
